DUAL DEGREE

Cyprus International University has dual degree agreements with the University of Sunderland and with the University of Wolverhampton, UK. According to these agreements CIU students can complete their last academic (senior) year at one of the universities in UK and can have dual degree as CIU and Wolverhampton/Sunderland at the same time.

 

CAMPUS

Campus life is probably one of the most important periods in any student's higher education experience and has a profound impact not only on students' social lives, but in their professional lives as well. At Cyprus International University, we pride ourselves in offering a wide range of opportunities on campus to help students to realize their full potential. Social, cultural, sports and academic opportunities compliment and support the education that students receive in the classrooms.

  • RESIDENCE HALLS

Residential life is a vital complement to the educational process. The rich diversity of cultures, backgrounds and extra-curricular opportunities offered through the residence halls are designed to encourage students to explore the world of ideas and develop social skills complement the skills learned in the classroom. CIU offers single, double and quadruple accommodations; all equipped with free internet and cable TV connections, in a number of different types of residential settings.

  • DINING FACILITIES

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served seven days a week at the Student Union Lakeview Food Hall, which offers a la carte service as well as a basic meal plan. In addition to the Lakeview Food Hall, the campus offers a number of other dining facilities catering to a wide variety of tastes.

  • STUDENT UNION

CIU students find that much of their social activity centers around the multi-purpose Student Union. Facilities include a restaurant, cafeteria, snack-bar, outdoor garden cafe and mini-market; a movie theater, arcade and pool room; a bookstore; meeting rooms for CIU Clubs; and the CIU mini-hotel.

 

SERVICES/ACTIVITIES

CIU offers specialized student services through a number of departments;

  • THE STUDENT DEVELOPMENT AND COUNSELING CENTER

This center provides assistance on any problem a student may encounter while at the University, also is responsible of organizing student club activities, sports activities and games as well as alumni affairs. CIU has a very active network of student clubs, including the Alternative Art Club, Horse Riding Club, Fantasy and Science Fiction Club, Italian Club, Music Club, Cinema Club and Theater Club. Participating in club activities gives students the opportunity to discover their own talents and share them with others.

  • LIBRARY AND INFORMATION CENTER

The Library and Information Center are open to all CIU students, providing them the opportunity to access the latest publications and information related to their fields of study. While the Library provides pleasant and comfortable surroundings for private study, the facilities at the center are in use of the students; such as media rooms, video units, computer terminals and self-service photocopying.

  • INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OFFICE

International Office offers guidance to all international students on almost every university-related matters, as well as living in Cyprus. The staff of the Office welcomes the international students and helps them with immigration laws and procedures as well as to get accustomed to the environment quickly. CIU has international students from 23 different countries; and the Office organizes many activities and events for them, throughout the year.

 

Students interested in applying to CIU are required to submit the following documents:

  • A completed and signed CIU application form (obtainable from www.ciu.edu.tr).
  • Official school records (in English), including a complete list of subjects and grades.
  • 12 passport-size photographs (taken within the past year).
  • 50 EUR non-refundable application fee.

SCHOLARSHIPS

CIU offers 37% reduced tuition fee to all international students. In addition to this, a limited number of academic scholarships are also available; based on an applicant's academic performance.
