Near East University (NEU) is an international private institute of higher education founded in Nicosia-North Cyprus in 1988.The main objective of this institution is to give students a sound education and bring them up as confident and responsible individuals with creative and inquisitive minds. Today Near East University consists of a select student population of 15,700 coming from 51 different countries around the world; hence its international identity. NEU with its ample educational facilities and academically highly qualified staff from 25 different countries is the first institution of higher education in Nicosia, the capital city of North Cyprus, rendering quality education.

Admission Procedure:

• Original attested copy of the high school certificate.

• 6 passport size photographs.

• Photocopy of the passport.

• A reference letter from the high school last attended.

• A bank reference letter.

• The official copy of the transcript (for transfer students only).

• Attested copy of the exam result that is being used for application (SAT -1, GCE, ACT, Tawjihi, Baccalaureate etc).

• Minimum Requirements:

• CGPA: 2.50

• TOEFL (190) or IELTS (6.5) or NEUEE (80).

Campus Life :

There are 15 dormitory buildings in total, 14 of which are situated on campus and 1 in the city of Nicosia.  Nine of these blocks accommodate male students and the remaining six are for female students.  Rooms are arranged to facilitate one, two, three and four students sharing.  The total capacity is 3,500 beds.

Olympic Swimming Pool :

The Olympic Indoor Swimming Pool was opened on 19 May 1997.  It consists of a total area of 2700m² (square metres), 16m high, 50 x 21m, 3100 cubic metres water capacity, 3, 5, 7.5 and 10m diving towers, central heating, 1000 audience seating capacity, together with its Aqua Cafe it is the first and only Olympic Indoor Swimming pool in the country.

Health and Wellness Centre;
To benefit from the Centre, one shall have a health report that is obtained from the Near East Health and Wellness Centre. This report is given under the supervision of a doctor after a thoroughly test carried out at the Performance Laboratory to determine the physical ability of the person.
Before starting training at the Centre, the applicant shall be physically adequate to start training; performance level and body composition are determined by objective test results and developments are closely followed up by time.

NEU Grand Library :

The NEU Grand Library became operational in December 2005 and is designed to accommodate and serve the needs of both academics-researchers and the general public.
The main library building houses more than 500,000 books shelved according to Library of Congress and can accommodate up to 600 persons at any one time. There are about 100 user computers with online internet connection, 16 audio visual cabins for the use of the 5000 strong DVD collection and 14 group study rooms with computers. The entire library complex and its surround is equipped with wireless networking to facilitate the use of library services and the internet through user’s laptops.
There are 4 conference rooms with a capacity of 1000 and a theatre stage equipped with satellite communications to facilitate TV broadcasting. With a cafeteria for 600 persons this huge complex is open 24 hours a day.
The library aims to serve as the central information centre for the island and with an anticipated book collection of 1,500,000 will be one of the leading libraries in our region.
